Police in Makati City tightened security at the premises of an oil firm's office there in anticipation of a protest caravan by militant transport groups.
Makati City police officer-in-charge Superintendent Jaime Santos ordered maximum tolerance for the rally, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported Wednesday.
He said the other major oil firms, Petron and Chevron, had moved their offices to eastern Metro Manila.
Militant transport groups led by the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide had planned a protest caravan from Quezon City to Makati City for Wednesday.
PISTON said its caravan aimed to protest several recent rounds of fuel price hikes.
