Barely a week after sweltering through a 36.1-degree heat, Metro Manila residents may have to brace for a 36-degree weather again on Monday.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Monday's weather will likely be hottest between 2 and 3 p.m.
"Mga 24 to 36 degrees (Celsius) ang forecast natin. Ito [ay] sa pagitan ng 2 hanggang 3 p.m. sa Metro Manila (We can expect 24 to 36 degrees Celsius today, and residents may want to keep out of exposure to the sun between 2 and 3 p.m.)," PAGASA forecaster Ben Oris said in an interview on dzBB radio.
PAGASA's extended weather forecast for this week showed Metro Manila may experience 36-degree weather also on Thursday and Friday.
It added the weather is likely to be hot as well in Tuguegarao City, with temperatures going up to 38 degrees on Friday.
Oris said the temperature went up to 37.9 degrees there Sunday; 37.7 degrees in Subic; and 38 degrees in Cabanatuan (Nueva Ecija).
Meanwhile, PAGASA's forecast for Monday indicated an intertropical convergence zone may bring rains to Visayas and Mindanao, and Palawan.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the Visayas and Mindanao including Palawan will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds blowing from the east will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country, the weather bureau said.
