Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez bestowed the Order of Merit Duarte, Sanchez and Mella on Philippines ex president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo via Decree on Wednesday.
The distinction notes Macapagal Arroyo’s merits, including her contribution to bolster the friendship between her country and Hispanic America, and for helping to create FOCALAE, the organization formed to improve relations among the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Also present in the ceremony held in the National Palace was Haiti president elect Michel Martelly.
