Fugitive in Vegas slaying arrested in Philippines

LAS VEGAS: Police say a former Las Vegas man has been arrested in the Philippines on a murder warrant in the slaying of his wife. Her bones were found last month buried in the back yard of their US home.

Las Vegas police say 53-year-old Hugh Cave was arrested Thursday in Sabang, Morong, Bataan — about 80 kilometers west of Manila.

Police say 45-year-old Gloria Cave’s remains were found April 23 by the current tenant of the home in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police on April 29 obtained a warrant for Hugh Cave’s arrest, and a crjminal apprehension team coordinated with the FBI and Filipino authorities in the arrest.

Police Officer Laura Meltzer says Cave is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas to face charges.
