Despite his denials, the warden of the Quezon City Jail was relieved from his post late Friday over allegations that detained road slay suspect Jason Ivler got VIP treatment there.

A report by radio dzBB's Allan Gatus said Senior Superintendent Hernan Grande was placed on "floating" status and reassigned to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)'s Metro Manila office while an investigation is ongoing.

The report said Superintendent Joseph Vela was tapped to replace Grande for the moment, adding that Vela assumed his post Friday night.

Last Friday, the BJMP ordered an investigation into reports that Ivler was supposedly partying inside the Quezon City Jail, where he is detained over murder charges.

BJMP head Director Rosendo Dial ordered Grande to explain the reports of photos and videos circulating on the Internet that Ivler was having parties inside the jail, with women and liquor allowed inside.

Ivler faces murder charges for allegedly shooting dead Renato Ebarle Jr., whose father Renato Sr. worked in the Office of the Executive Secretary in Malacañang, in a fit of road rage on Nov. 18, 2009
